Theatres in Napoli

Rome's great opera house is the Teatro dell'Opera, near Termini, opened in 1880 as the Teatro Costanzi: Puccini's Tosca premiered there. In summer the season moves outdoors, among the ruins of the Baths of Caracalla. To see an ancient theatre there is the Theatre of Marcellus, older than the Colosseum, with a Renaissance palace built on its arches. The other theatres on this page come from imported data and we have not picked through them yet: they are drama, cabaret and music venues, so check the programme on their own site before you go.
