Theatres in Milano

The theatre to see in Milan is the Teatro alla Scala, open since 1778 and among the most famous opera houses in the world. By day you can visit the theatre museum and, when rehearsals allow, look at the hall from the boxes. Tickets for performances should be sought well in advance. The city also has a strong tradition of drama, starting with the Piccolo Teatro. The other theatres on this page come from imported data and we have not picked through them yet: they are drama and music venues, so check the programme on their own site.

The centre is easy to cover on foot; the planner puts the stops in order around the time you have.

Your browser will ask to share your location

It's only used to work out how many minutes' walk you are from each place open right now.

  • We only use it to work out distances, and we don't keep it. If you share a walk, its starting point in the link is rounded to about 100 metres.
  • No account, no history, no notifications.
  • Rather not? Pick the city yourself: it works just as well.
