Parks and gardens in Milano

Milan's green spaces are less famous than its museums, but they are close to the centre and reachable on foot. Parco Sempione opens behind the castle, all lawns and avenues, up to the Arco della Pace. The Giardini Indro Montanelli, at Porta Venezia, are the place for children, with the Natural History Museum and the Planetarium. The Orto Botanico di Brera is a small 18th-century garden hidden behind the Pinacoteca. The parks on this page come from imported data, so many are neighbourhood gardens.

The centre is easy to cover on foot; the planner puts the stops in order around the time you have.

Your browser will ask to share your location

It's only used to work out how many minutes' walk you are from each place open right now.

  • We only use it to work out distances, and we don't keep it. If you share a walk, its starting point in the link is rounded to about 100 metres.
  • No account, no history, no notifications.
  • Rather not? Pick the city yourself: it works just as well.
