Evenings in Rome begin with an aperitivo and are spent mostly outdoors. Trastevere is the liveliest district, its alleys packed with bars around the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere; across the Tiber, the square of Campo de' Fiori fills up once the market has closed. Monti, behind the Forums, has quieter wine bars and cocktail bars, while Testaccio and Pigneto are the districts for live music and late nights.
