Art galleries in Roma

The art galleries on this page are mostly private and commercial spaces from imported data. Hours and shows change often, so check their own site before you go. Rome's great painting collections, by contrast, are in its museums. The Galleria Borghese has Caravaggio, Titian and Bernini's sculptures; Palazzo Barberini and the Galleria Doria Pamphilj hold Raphael, Caravaggio and Velázquez. The Galleria Spada, near Campo de' Fiori, is small and has Borromini's forced-perspective gallery in its courtyard. For contemporary art the place to go is the MAXXI, in Flaminio.

The centre is easy to cover on foot; the planner puts the stops in order around the time you have.

Your browser will ask to share your location

It's only used to work out how many minutes' walk you are from each place open right now.

  • We only use it to work out distances, and we don't keep it. If you share a walk, its starting point in the link is rounded to about 100 metres.
  • No account, no history, no notifications.
  • Rather not? Pick the city yourself: it works just as well.
