Shopping in Palermo

Shopping in central Palermo comes down to a few streets: Via Maqueda and Corso Vittorio Emanuele, then Via Ruggero Settimo and Via Libertà. For now this category is mostly imported listings, from shopping centres to corner shops, and it is not yet a guide. The first two streets have crafts, books and souvenirs; the other two have clothes and familiar brands. For something Sicilian to take home, the historic markets such as Ballarò and the Capo sell spices, capers, sun-dried tomatoes and preserves, and the flea market on Piazza Peranni has antiques and second-hand pieces. For marzipan fruit and almond pastries, try the historic pastry shops.

Via Maqueda and the Cassaro run through almost every walk in the centre; build yours with the planner.

Your browser will ask to share your location

It's only used to work out how many minutes' walk you are from each place open right now.

  • We only use it to work out distances, and we don't keep it. If you share a walk, its starting point in the link is rounded to about 100 metres.
  • No account, no history, no notifications.
  • Rather not? Pick the city yourself: it works just as well.
