Art galleries in Palermo

To see art in Palermo without guesswork, start with Palazzo Butera, the GAM and Palazzo Abatellis, then add the private galleries. The ones on this page are mostly small spaces with changing shows, and we have not checked their programmes yet, so look at the gallery's own site before you go. Palazzo Butera holds a collection that runs from antiquity to the present, in a noble palace facing the sea. The GAM, the modern art gallery in the former convent of Sant'Anna, covers Sicilian painting and sculpture from the 19th and 20th centuries. For older art, Palazzo Abatellis houses the regional gallery of Sicily, with works by Antonello da Messina.

Butera, the GAM and Abatellis are all in the old centre, and the planner can join them in one walk.

Your browser will ask to share your location

It's only used to work out how many minutes' walk you are from each place open right now.

  • We only use it to work out distances, and we don't keep it. If you share a walk, its starting point in the link is rounded to about 100 metres.
  • No account, no history, no notifications.
  • Rather not? Pick the city yourself: it works just as well.
